A huge shoutout to our CNA and EMS students at Caribou Tech Center! 👏 Yesterday, they hosted wellness checks, taking residents’ vitals, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels, and blood glucose.
Your professionalism, compassion, and hands-on skills make us so proud! A special thank you to Mr. Belanger for including Caribou Tech in this event, and to the residents who participated. Extra thanks to Big Cheese Pizza - Presque Isle for keeping our students fueled! 🍕

Subject: Important Safety Warning About Chromebook Misuse
Dear Students and Families,
We want to inform you of a dangerous social media trend circulating, particularly on TikTok. Some students have attempted to insert metal objects or pencils into the Chromebook charging ports. This has already caused ports to melt, smoke to be emitted, and in some cases, risked the devices catching on fire. Students should only be inserting cables and connectors that are designed for Chromebooks into the ports. No other objects should be utilized.
This behavior is extremely unsafe and will not be tolerated.
Please be advised:
Any student responsible for this kind of damage will be billed for the full cost of the Dell Chromebook: $250, and the CTL Chromebooks are $398. There will also be serious disciplinary consequences for anyone found participating in or promoting this behavior.
We urge all students to treat school-issued technology responsibly. These devices are learning tools, and misuse not only causes damage, but it also puts everyone’s safety at risk.
If you become aware of any student engaging in or encouraging this behavior, please report it to a teacher or administrator immediately.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our school safe.
Sincerely,
Mr. Travis Barnes
Principal, Caribou Community School
Dr. Leland Caron,
Principal, Caribou Community School
Mrs. Jamie Selfridge
Principal, Caribou High School
Mr. Benjamin Goodwin
Assistant Principal, Caribou High School

Caribou Tech Center’s January 2025 Student of the Month
Congratulations to Desirae Ouellette for being named Caribou Tech Center’s January 2025 Student of the Month! Desirae’s exceptional dedication, leadership, and quick thinking have made a significant impact on both her peers and the staff at the center.
This month, Desirae played a role in delivering an outstanding FFA (Future Farmers of America) presentation to local 8th-grade students. This presentation was pivotal for communicating to these students the value of the agriculture program and will hopefully inspire younger students to engage with and learn about opportunities within the field.
In addition to her involvement in the FFA presentation, Desirae has gone above and beyond by assisting her teacher with critical budgetary responsibilities. She has worked diligently to ensure accurate requisitions for the agriculture program, showcasing her attention to detail and commitment to the success of the program as a whole.
Desirae also demonstrated an incredible presence of mind and compassion when she noticed an emergency situation involving a staff member who required medical attention. Her quick action in alerting adults and ensuring the staff member received the necessary care highlights her maturity and genuine concern for others’ well-being.
Desirae Ouellette embodies the qualities we desire in our students. Her contributions this month—and beyond—have been nothing short of remarkable. Congratulations, Desirae, on this well-deserved recognition!
