Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician course is designed to give students, through lecture, practical lab, and clinical experience, the entry-level knowledge and skills necessary to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for patients who access the emergency medical system. Upon successful course completion, students are eligible to take the National Registry of EMT`s certification exam at the EMT level.

Students will perform interventions necessary to provide patient care and transportation including basic level patient assessment, airway management and oxygen administration, CPR, spinal immobilization, shock management, bandaging and splinting, and medication administration. Knowledge and skills obtained at the EMT level provides the foundation for further advancement to Advanced EMT and Paramedic levels. Students will also receive First Aid/CPR/AED certification along with an OSHA 10-hour credential.

Caribou Tech’s EMT program is tentatively scheduled to begin Fall 2021 

This program will have a maximum of 10 students enrolled.  Students are required to be at least 16 years of age upon entrance to the EMT program

Public Safety

Criminal justice programs prepare individuals to perform the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control and public relations, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, basic crime prevention methods, weapon and equipment operation and maintenance, report preparation and other routine law enforcement responsibilities.

Firefighting and related protective service programs focus on the principles and procedures for providing homeland security, police, fire and other safety services and managing penal institutions.
